Please let me know if there is anything i can do to make getting blood taken less painfu?

Numb: If you know the site where blood will be taken from, there are certain options. You can place ice on the site for a minute. The down side to this is that the cold can cause the veins to spasm, making blood withdrawal more difficult. There is also a lidocaine numbing cream that can be placed on the site about 1/2 hour prior. Local vibration has also been shown to decrease pain at injection sites.
