A member asked:

How good is surgical perpherial nerve reattachment after a nerve been severed to retore function and feeling?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hit and miss: May work well, but nerve has to regrow and hopefully re-innervate correctly within the proper sequence and location. This process proceeds slowly, at 0.1 mm daily, speed of finger nail growth. Sometimes, focal scarring at site of attachment, a neuroma, can compromise outcome.
