Swelling causes ...,: Increased pressure in a compartment( of the leg , for example) from trauma , surgery, fracture, etc. W/ resultant swelling, bleeding may lead to impairment of blood flow to the extremity. Acute compartment syndrome is a surgical emergency requiring fascial compt.Release.Early symptoms can be non-specific( numbness, inc.Pain).If there is any suspicion of acs compt.Pressures should be measured.
