Please help! what is the medical term for seeing stars in front of your eyes?

Photopsias: Photopsias are light flashes originating from mechanical stimulation of the retina. There are a variety of causes. The classic "seeing stars" comes from a direct hit. There is no actual term for this but photopsias will do as an alternative.
