Would a sonohysterogram detect blocked tubes?

Dr. James Lin answered

Here are some...: So far, there has been lacking available reports to address the sensitivity to reliably illustrate blocked Fallopian tubes. In my imagination, the sensitivity to detect such is very low due to their small lumen & irregular lining. In reality, performing contrast X-ray study is still more realistic - called hysterosalpingography. More? Ask your gyn-doc.
