Does; doesn't: Radioactivity produces ionizing radiation that damages the genes. I would urge you to ignore "pop" / "scare" stories about electromagnetic fields causing cancer. They're based on anecdotes and retrospective questioning which generates junk findings. There's no obvious mechanism and the electricity of your beating heart is a stronger exposure than nearby power lines.
