Yes: Of course if this has been worked up already this is fine . Otherwise if this is from an unintentional weight loss or there are other symptoms , a full history and physical with a full battery of labs would be needed to rule out other secondary causes.

Protein intake : Sure it is fine to add a couple of protein shakes a day for weight gain. 110 is a perfectly fine weight goal for your height. If you plan to put on lean muscle mass,add weight training to your exercise regimen. Best of luck and thanks for trusting Healthtap!
