Atypical GERD help: Treatment of gerd with atypical symptoms can be difficult. Proper diagnosis with ph monitoring is key. When atypical or no symptoms are present, treatment response may take longer, sometimes months. If gerd is well controlled (as demonstrated on repeat testing) other causes of symptoms should be investigated.
