Hard to say: There are several possible causes. She could have rubbed it against the bed or had it pressed against a hard object during her sleep. She could have an insect bite of some sort. It could be the beginning of an infection such as chicken pox or coxsackie. Clean it with clear water and apply an antibiotic ointment. Watch for signs of infection or spreading. Call your doctor if concerns.
