Wait for 6 weeks: Ultrasound will not show a developing fetus until after 5-6 weeks of pregnancy. At an earlier stage it will show the gestational sac. Unless you are having bleeding and cramps, you don't need to have an ultrasound at this early stage of your pregnancy. If you continue to have symptoms, and a repeat ultrasound continues to show an empty sac, this is likely a blighted ovum. Hcg levels are also key.
