Full term baby: Sometimes full term babies have significant jaundice requiring phototherapy in the hospital after the mother goes home. The full term baby may have other problems such as hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), respiratory issues or feeding issues that require a nicu admission. Sometimes the baby requires treatment for drug withdrawal from narcotics mom took during the pregnancy.
