Can docs explain what does residual/recurrent left central/subarticular l5/s1 disc protrusion mean?

Recurrence of disc: This means you had surgery where they took out the herniated portion of l5-s1 disc that was pinching oh your right s1 nerve. After the surgery somehow you have some remaining disc materia which has now come out in the middle of the disc space whre as before it came out on th right side of the disc space. .I hope this clarifies it for you. Good luck.

Disc Problems...: Looks like by the verbage you gave, you've had a previous MRI before suggesting that the disc herniation has recurred or stuck around. "Central" just means in the middle of the spinal canal, "Subarticular" suggests below the facet joint since that is the only articulating joint in the spine. Protrusion is just another name for a herniation and specifically denotes the type of herniation.
