Not good: Someone with celiac disease after eating gluten, they may feel belly pain, bloating, possible nausea, diarrhea, etc. Sometimes they may feel fatigued and with headache. Patients with celiac dis who have been eating gluten for long time can also develop malnutrition.

Hard to predict: This is not a sudden or scary process like a bee sting reaction anaphylaxis. The intensity of injury and response also differs between individuals. Those with good long term control & stable/ repaired tissue may have little or no immediate effect of a minor exposure. A heavier exposure will likely trigger intestinal irritation, cramps, bloating and diarrhea over a period of days on an average pt.
