No: Lead exposure in children can affect the brain and nerves, with the most common effects being lower IQ and learning disabilities. Lead can also cause weakness by damaging nerves outside the brain. Thankfully, with the removal of lead from paint, gasoline and pipes the average lead level in children and adults has dramatically declined over the past 10-20 years.
