Childhood Sz: Adult schizophrenia is for patients over 18. Childhood schizophrenia rarely can be diagnosed before 7-8 years. Here's a link: http://en.Wikipedia.Org/wiki/pediatric_schizophrenia earliest signs usually are delayed language/motor development - rocking, flapping arms. Hallucinations, etc. May be a bit later.

Don't do it alone: Do you have schizophrenia in your family? If so it is worth looking into support programs and talking to your doctor about other resources. Early childhood schizophrenia is very rare, but it does occur, you cannot diagnose it yourself. You must seek professional help. Best wishes to you and the child in question.
