Could you have orthodontic elastics without braces?

Bad idea: What would you attach them to? Putting rubber bands around teeth can be dangerous, causing avulsion of tooth or teeth. Please see qualified orthodontic specialist for information that pertains to your unique set of circumstances. Everyone's different.

Sort of: Depends what you call braces. We have, on very rare occasion, put buttons on the teeth that elastics have tied into to obtain some movement-- but you still have a sort of attachment on your teeth-- just not what is officially called a bracket (or brace if you will). Without something to attach to, no you can't where elastics.

Elastics/No Braces?: The simple answer is NO. Where will a patient attach the elastics to w/o orthodontic appliances? Sorry, but the answer is no.
