A member asked:

Can you tell me more about cardiogenic emboli, what are they?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Emboli: There are a number of types: in one case an infection on your heart valve can "shower" bits of bacteria out into the bloodstream; in another a condition called atrial fibrillation may allow clot to form in your atria which can get squirted out into the bloodstream. There are others as well.
