Blood colts: Cardiovascular embolism can come from blood clots originating from heart most common cause is atrial fibrillation and others from endocarditis -infection on valves , hole in heart, and cardiac tumors. There are also embolisms from atherosclerosis of ascending and aortic pathology - atheromas with plaque rupture and blood clots on the plaques.
