Possibly meds: If the overactive thyroid was treated with meds the dose may have been more than needed and resulted in too much suppression. Graves disease is an autoimmune disease in which antibodies to they thyroid are produced and can make it difficult to regulate. Treating the autoimmune component in addition to rx meds to suppress thyroid hormone production will make this process easier..
