Difficult to manage: The description given puts this person in a very critical situation. What is described appears to have overwhelming infection that is overwhelming the body's ability to sustain itself. There is hope if the patient did not damage the brain when the heart stopped and the infection can be eradicated. Even if this person should recover, the long term prognosis would be poor for good quality of life.
