The answer is yes: Warm compresses help evaporative dry eye caused by clogging of the oil glands along the eyelid margins. These glands produce oil that coats the eye and prevent tears from evaporating. Compresses keep these oil glands open. Omega 3 fish oil supplements can also help keep the oil glands producing healthy fatty acids.
