Yes: Pain with vigorous coughing is common and due muscular strain. Pleurisy can mimic this but is also present with just breathing. Clear, white, or yellow phlegm is generally normal. Red suggests bleeding. Green is suspicious for infection. Only lab testing on the sputum can provide more exact information. If you smoke, please stop! if you don't: you're smart!
