Psychiatrists, neurologists, psychologists, social workers--who is cheapest for neuropsych eval?

Cheap vs Effective: Suggest that if you wish to solve a problem, start with the individual who knows more about the subject without regard to the initial cost differential. You could begin with either a psychiatrist or psychologist with the one you choose then directing further need for evaluation and therapy. Of those two, the former is probably more expensive.

Neuropsych: Psychologists can perform the testing, if qualified, but such testing is not cheap. Sorry.

Ouch: Neuropsychological evaluation is one of the more complex evaluations that r done in psychology often taking many hours or up to 1.5 to 2 days, so they are relatively costly. Most states have practice statutes that limit the term if not the practice of psychological or neuropsycholgical testing to psychologists & they s.B. Special trained in neuropsych. University clinics could have cheaper rates.

Neuro psycologist: Neuro psychological evaluation is performed by psychologist who get special training in neuropsychology. It is not cheap as it is time consuming and involves several more tests than regular psycological evaluation.
