A member asked:

Why does our stomachs make noise ? like growl ? before and after we eat

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Borborygmi...: Stomach rumble is called borborygmi, and is caused by the peristalsis (contractions) of the small intestine moving gas and digested food through the intestine. This is what we listen for when placing our stethoscopes on the abdomen and is normal when it occurs - even when audible without a stethoscope. Good luck!
