Dermatologist: This sounds like a benign lesion like a dermatofibroma or inclusion cyst but have it checked. A dermatologist could diagnose it for you if your pcp can't.

Bump: The bump may be a ganglion cyst or possibly a lipoma. Hard to give an exact diagnosis without palpating or seeing bump.
