GERD treatment: I would suggest trying a proton pump inhibitor before trying an anti-depressant. If you have gerd that doesn't go away with acid blocking medication, it may be an indicator of a more serious condition. A consultation with a GI doctor or a surgeon who performs fundoplications may be indicated.
