Stay home: Sounds like a flu-like illness. Try some dayquil and nyquil according to the label directions and rest up the next few days. It may take 2-3 weeks to be back to normal but you should start feeling a little better in 3-5 days. Stay home today. Save your money.

Viral illness: You either have the common cold or influenza. If the latter, you might benefit by being treated with oseltamivir, but only after seeing a doctor and getting a specific diagnosis. Or you could take otc meds to treat symptoms, stay home, rest, drink lots of fluids and i hope you will be better soon. Best wishes.

If otherwise healthy: You may want to dry some otc decongestants, analgesics, and cough medication. After 2-3 days if symptoms worsen or don't improve then you may consider it. This is the time of year for self-limited viral infections. Be sure you have had your flu shot, don't smoke and keep fluids intake up.
