What is the average age a kid should learn theyre letters because my nephew is about 1 year and 1/2 and knows almost all of them?

Learning: There are many variables that complicate a specific answer but around the age of 2 to 4 is about the average. Some children can read early and some read late. It depends on the surrounding stimulation and environment.

It depends..: Many kids would be able to know their letters, numbers, shapes, ; colors at that age if their parents would spend the time every day to go over those topics many times a day. It is so important to show kids how exciting it is to learn new things. It is truely surprising what kids can learn at an early age with the right tools. One of my favorite learning tools are placemats with anything on them.

Nephew is a prodigy.: Most kids are reading at age 6. Early enrichment is valuable ; should be encouraged. Kids may begin reading at different ages yet succeed well as they develop. He should be challenged ; encouraged but not be forced. Learning letters is wonderful but not the same as reading.
