Yes ; No: Heat will not cause teeth to melt but it may be possible with extreme temperature change to cause enamel micro fractures or crazing. If you are concerned, see your dentist for an examination.

Dental molds: Why would you heat your teeth?. Dental molds are not heated. I do not believe that something you mix up could be hot enough to hurt your teeth if you can get it past your lips which would be the first thing to hurt.

Heat teeth: It sounds like you are asking about molding an otc night guard by heating it up in hot water and then biting into it. One thing is for sure is you could never heat your teeth enough to melt them because the rest of your body would melt way before your teeth would. Secondly take care that the water is not too you could cause sensitivity to extreme temp in your teeth or you could burn your gums.

Kill nerve: Severe temperature change, if long enough, can cause the nerve (pulp) in a tooth to die. Normally, if you are molding an otc mouthpiece/mouthguard, the length of time that the temperature is elevated would not possibly cause harm, but i would suggest a custom made mouthpiece from your dentist.

No: Molding teeth with heated rubber will not cause your teeth to crack or melt. One would have to apply very high sustained temperatures to your teeth to cause potential nerve damage. It is recommended that a bite guard be made by your dentist for optimal fit and comfort.
