Depends: It depends on the cause of the crustiness and depends on what you mean by eyedrops. Just about everything we use in ophthalmology is eyedrops: antibiotics, allergy med, glaucoma med, steroid, nonsteroidal, etc. If you mean artificial tears, then yes, you could try it, and if the cause was dry eyes, it would help. Best thing though, is to see your eye doctor.
