Hematoma: Likely a bit deep and the bruising will show over the next week or so. If red, hot, tender, swollen then infection is possible. Have yournpcp look at it. Meanwhile warm compresses / or local, heating pad - on low.

Tender and warm?: Is the lump tender or warmer to touch than surrounding skin? If so, there is the possibility of a localized infection or abscess. Could also be an inflammatory response to something that was injected. Recommend seeing your primary care provider for assessment of this red lump that you described as being at an injection or blood draw site for over a month without signs of bruising.
