When to get a hematoma blood clot drained? i took a hard fall over 3 weeks ago. bruise is gone, but large lump is getting painful again. is it a clot?

Maybe,maybe not: Some of the bruises over bony prominences (shin, hip, etc) form a calcified (bony) mass that can take months to gradually resolve. Clots tend to break down and be absorbed into the vessels servicing those tissues. Your pcp can examine and see what this is doing. Most recommend avoiding clot drainage when possible as the maneuver can introduce infection into deep tissues.
