Enzymes 4 Digestion: One gets enzymes for digesting food from their own bodies or from the bacteria that line the gut. Enzymes for digestion do not come from food. Calories and vitamins come from foods. As long as you are eating a balanced meal with mostly protein sources for calories you are eating healthy.

Little impact BUT...: That cooked foods are unhealthy because enzymes are destroyed in not widely accepted; there is little science to support this- see http://www.Beyondveg.Com/tu-j-l/raw-cooked/raw-cooked-2b.Shtml#enzymes however, i advise against eating foods cooked in microwaves for reasons unrelated to enzymes- see http://articles.Mercola.Com/sites/articles/archive/2010/05/18/microwave-hazards.Aspx for details.

A BIG ONE: Enzymes are proteins ; are needed to catalyze the mulitple chemical reactions in your body's metabolism to keep you alive, if you do not provide the proper protein, ;/or if your gut is not properly absorbing, your body will go to your own protein (your lean body mass/skeletal muscle ; break it down to get what it needs leaving you with less strength fatigue, malnutrition leadung to chronic disease.
