Removal best: Sebaceous cysts should be surgically removed with attention to removal of the seb gland that is secreting into the area. Scraping alone is often not curative. Antibiotics are used in those seb cysts that have been infected. These can be cultured and sensitivity checked to insure right antibiotic. It is important to remove the 'capsule' that forms around skin oil outside the duct system.
