Is it infected?: Sebacious cysts unless infected , are not treated with antibiotics. If not infected trt. Is excision of the cyst .If infected we treat with antibiotics and when the infection is controlled well , the cyst wall can be separated from the overlying skin surg.Is ok. Antibiotic choice is based on allergies. Penicillin gp, is good .Others like clindamycin, doxy are okay, but they needto be given by ur dr.

Sebaceous cyst: An infected sebaceous cyst may need to be drained before the infection will improve. Antibiotics won't help much if drainage is what is needed. See a plastic surgeon.
