A member asked:

I was wondering what are the detailed differences between lidocaine and viscous lidocaine?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Same drug: Viscous Lidocaine contains 2% Lidocaine whereas regular Lidocaine is supplied in various concentrations depending on useage. Viscous form is for intra oral anesthesia topically and contains methyl paraben and propyl paraben and sodium carboxymethylcelluloae to adjust the viscosity.
