Doesn't happen: A gallbladder does not "burst". It can cause pain when it is obstructed by a stone or other reason. The pain during an obstructive episode is described as very severe, doubling some people over with discomfort, and then goes away in a few minutes. Severe cases of gallbladder obstruction can result in gangrene, perforation, peritonitis and death.
