Severe: A ruptured gallbladder will spill bile into the abdomen and you will have the worst abdominal pain imaginable, may be all areas or more confined to the right upper abdomen. This is a medical emergency, and will need urgent surgery.

Slow rupture : In rare cases an infected gallbladder will slowly erode into the nearby intestine (over days to weeks) and you will end up with a fistula or connection between gallbladder and intestine. Best to be evaluated by a surgeon if you are having issues to prevent complications
