A member asked:

Please explain what are some symptoms of pid and how is it diagnosed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

PID: Pid is a sexually transmitted disease usually caused by gonorrhea or chlamydia. Pelvic pain, discharge or a fever, or no symptoms can occur. It can damage to the fallopian tubes and cause infertility. If diagnosed early, treatment will reduce any risk for complications. Still, the only way to know if there is any residual effect is to evaluate the fallopian tubes with a hysterosalpingogram.
