Nose bleed: The average nose bleed should resolve in 15 minutes or less. If your epistaxis is recurrent and lasts longer you should get tested for bleeding disorders

About 10 minutes: A nosebleed without any underlying cause or disease should stop with firm pressure on both sides of the nose for 10 minutes by the clock (because it seems like a long time!) if it doesn't stop by then, it may be bleeding from farther back in the nose or there may be another problem...See a doctor or emergency room.
