See answer: The emergency dept would be just for that, ...An "emergency." since she is breathing fine and there is no bleeding anymore, she can wait to see the dr. As an outpt in the am. Best wishes to you.

She may be fine: If she had any significant swelling, bruising, or cosmetic deformity at the bridge of the nose she may want to be evaluated for possible fracture. Otherwise if bleeding has resolved ice may help reduce swelling.

Maybe: If she can breathe easily from both nostrils it may be ok. However, if the bridge of her nose is swollen or discolored and she took enough of a fall that she could have broken her nose at the base, a doc should look inside for evidence of a blood pocket in the nasal bone or a deviated septum. Both respond better to early correction within 24-48 hrs.

Maybe not...: As long as the bleeding was less than 15 minutes, her nose is not obviously deformed--including the middle septum inside that separates the right side of the nose from the left side--and she can breathe without distress, she will probably be ok. Make certain no eye or dental damage occurred as well. Do play quiet games the remainder of the night however to avoid potentially more serious reinjury.
