Several potential: The primary CNS action of ketamine appears to be a non-competitive block of n-methyl-d-aspartate receptors. High incidence of adverse side effects, including anxiety, chest pain, palpitations, agitation, rhabdomyolysis, flashbacks, delirium, dystonia, psychosis, schizophenic-like symptoms, dizziness, vomiting, seizures, and paranoia.
