Dementia: Some alzheimer's medications such as aricept, exelon, (rivastigmine) and Namenda are sometimes also used in other types of dementias. These include vascular, fronto-temporal, etc. Results are not terribly impressive though.

Cognitive enhancers: Other types of dementia include vascular, lewy body, parkinsons and frontotemporal dementia. Similar drugs are used for all dementias- acetylcholinesterase inhibitors(donepezil, galantamine, (galantamine hydrobromide) rivastigmine) and memantine. A skilled practitioner will match the correct drug to the condition, as some are not approved for, but maybe more effective for certain types of dementia.
