Immunosuppressant: It is the most widely used immunosuppressant drug in the U.S. Usually given in combination with other meds to prevent rejection of a transplanted organ. Although it is efficacious, it has its own set of adverse effects including tremors, high blood sugar, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and hair loss especially if the blood levels are too high. Bld tests are done to monitor the level.
