Conditions/defects: Some conditions that typically cause death by age 1 years old include: Trisomy 18 (Edwards Syndrome), Anencephaly & Pompe disease (early onset). MALES with Aicardi syndrome, Rett Syndrome and Incontinentia Pigmenti type 2 usually either die in utero or shortly after birth. Campomelic Dysplasia- few live past infancy.
