Maybe: First of all urinary tract infections are not contagious. In all likelihood if you had cystitis, the symptoms would persist and not be transient as you describe.

Test it and see doc: There is an otc test (azo test strip) and some generic version from walgreen/cvs etc.. To test for evidence of uti. At times, some meatal (opening area) and outside irritation can cause uti-like symptoms and when irritation subsides, so are the symptoms. Some women don't have much symptoms, especially elderly. Also, chlamydia infection may not have symptom, so check with your doc. Good luck.
