Possibly: While an acute gouty attack can occur anywhere, the most common place is in the foot. More specifically, the great toe joint is the #1 place of occurrence. On a side note, uric acid levels or a 24hr urine can be negative during an acute gouty attack. Visit your doctor and give them a complete history which should help determine your best course of therapy.
