A member asked:

What would one or two white spots on your tonsils mean? would it be tonsilitis, thrush, or tonsil stones? they clear up and come back.

Tonsils: Tonsils may develop small white patches that are simply dried surface secretions and have no medical concern. If there is no abnormal asymmetry of tonsils, no redness or pain then infections, such as strep or mono are unlikely. Thrush tends to cause scattered white thin exudate on the palate and cheeks or throat, and less so on the tonsils.
