Plastic Surgery 27 years experience
Varies: Location and injury dependent. Some use stem/stromal ultrasound guided injections to encourage healing. Open surgery is sometimes needed if avulsion injury or problems beyond your ability to heal. Sometimes external pin fixation can be used to immobilize torn ligament/bones from further harm. Depends on the cause, problem and location. Submit more detail for more answer.
