Yes: It is worth it - fresher, more likely to be local so better for the environment, helping local economy - many reasons we shop every week at the farmer's market and supplement at the stores.

Depends: If you care about sustainable farming practices, or lowering the carbon footprint of human activity; if you don't like consuming pesticides and other chemicals in your food; if you find peace of mind in eating food farmed as it has been for centuries rather than participating in one of the many modern chemical experiments on people, then yes. If you don't care about these things, no.
